Delonte West Suspended Again

Delonte West Suspended Again

Looks like another family barbecue with #UncleRicky took a bad turn.

The Dallas Mavericks have suspended Delonte West for the 2nd time in as many weeks. It is unclear as of right now what the whole story is, but management has said it was for conduct detrimental to the team.

“We have suspended Delonte for conduct detrimental to the team,” president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said in a statement. “The suspension is effective immediately and no other statements will be issued.”

Since the suspension, Delonte (CharleeRedz13) has taken to Twitter and released some comments. It’s pretty sad how things have unfolded, but we can only hope everything works out for the best. We wish you well Delonte, and hope to have you back as soon as possible.

“I’m gonna just pray for um!!!…perception is not reality!!!..real is real…in any language,culture…and what’s wrong is what’s wrong!!”

“All my family friends fans…who been right der wit me this uphill battle over the last 4years to get to this point….already know”

“That my name showin up in any fashion in a negative light is the worst thing that can happen.everything Ived worked towards out d window”

“Just ask u to talk with me….I’m a grown man…that’s not above logic and reason…Before u go to the papers wit false information.”

“If I’m not what u lookin 4 ….That’s fine…just dont kick me in my ass on the way out the door….I didn’t do anything to deserve that…”

The last tweet by West is the one that hits home. Hopefully things can get better and everything can get worked out. Thoughts and prayers are with Delonte West. We will have more info as it comes in.

Per Tim MacMahon(ESPN Dallas):

When reached by ESPNDallas.com on Thursday morning, West said he was being blamed for an argument between teammates after the Mavs’ 88-76 exhibition loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night in Wichita, Kan. He said he got a text Thursday morning telling him not to come to the American Airlines Center for practice.

“There was an argument between two teammates in the locker room last night that didn’t involve me,” said West, who had two points, one assist and three turnovers in 21 minutes against the Thunder. “Somehow I’m being blamed for it. I had nothing to do with it. I don’t know what’s going on.”
