10 Things You Didn’t Know About…Chuck Cooperstein

Being a MFFL is something to be proud of. It’s a community of hardcore Mavericks fans dedicated to one thing and one thing only: Supporting the Dallas Mavericks. This tight knit group has long been recognized as one of the better fan bases in the NBA, and any time you have a group that is recognized, you are going to come across some key individuals who help drive that fan base.
CoopThis is our second segment of “10 Things You Didn’t Know”. We decided to allow all of you Mavericks fans to get to know our radio play by play announcer Chuck Cooperstein a little better. He just finished his ninth season as our radio announcer and hosts his own show on ESPN 103.3 FM. He has had some experience doing games in the past for the University of Texas and TCU football teams, and a little bit of basketball as well.

Here is what he had to say:

1. Favorite Movie:

The Godfather

2. Favorite Song:

Too many to pick, but generally anything by Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, or any Southern Rock band does the trick.

3. Favorite thing to eat:

 Steak and Lobster

4. How did you get your current job with the Mavericks?

I was working for 103.3 ESPN when Mark Followill moved from radio to TV.

5. What do you love most about the job?

Watching the best basketball in the world every night, and my team generally wins.

6. Favorite Mavericks Moment:

The Championship Parade and rally four days later.

7. What’s the most memorable Mavericks game you’ve been a part of?

Too many the last nine years, but probably the night Dirk scored 29 in the 4th to beat Utah.

8. Favorite Sports Team not named the Mavericks:

The Florida Gators. Nothing else compares

9. Most embarrassing thing that happened on the job?

Early on, falling a sleep in a shootaround and being called out on it by Dirk.

10. A hobby that you have/do that people may not be aware of:

Love golf. at one time I was actually pretty good
