3 Reasons Every Dallas Cowboys Fan Should Be Thankful For

Tonight at 7:30 P.M the Dallas Cowboys will play the Philadelphia Eagles.  The Eagles (8-1) roll into Jerry World on top of the NFC East, and arguably on top of the NFL. To make matters worse, Philadelphia comes into this week 11 match up healthy. As of Friday the Eagles had no players on their 53 man roster ruled out for tonight’s game, and only receiver Alshon Jeffery was listed as a limited participant.

Meanwhile Dallas (5-4), takes the field Sunday night missing linebacker Sean Lee, running back Ezekiel Elliot, and possibly lineman Tyron Smith and safety Jeff Heath. In a tight race for a coveted NFC wild card spot, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott called Sunday night  a “must win”.  Yes, Dallas is in a tight spot right now, this is undeniable.

Though in the spirit of thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment to list a couple things every Cowboys fan should be thankful for.

This Thanksgiving I Am Thankful That

The Dallas Cowboys are young- With an average age of 26.06 years, the Cowboys are one of the younger teams in the league.

The Cowboys have trade assets-  The next 5 games give the Cowboys a chance to showcase running backs Alfred Morris, Darren McFadden, and Rod Smith to the rest of the league. If Dallas is able to show that McFadden or Morris still has what it takes to return to former 1000 yard form, running back depleted teams may be willing to fork up draft picks this off season.

Fans get to watch Dak-Wentz twice a year for the next decade– Both Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz are off to some of the best 24 game starts in NFL history. Imagine Brady-Manning, but twice a year instead of maybe once a year. This rivalry is just getting started, and will rewrite the landscape of the NFC for seasons to come.

Regardless of Sunday’s outcome, Dallas is sitting pretty for years to come. So eat your turkey, grab one of those personal pumpkin pies, and start your thanksgiving a little early.
