Could Jason Witten follow his best friend to the booth?

Jason Witten is 35 years old with four years left on his contract and has said that he wants to keep playing in 2018. However, FOX is trying to change that.

In January, Fox sports reached a 5 year deal to broadcast Thursday Night Football. They have said that they will not use their “A” team for those broadcasts, which means they have a hole there.

Peyton Manning had been rumored to be the favorite most of the offseason and according to Sporting News, he still is the favorite. If Peyton turns down this deal, it appears Witten is next on their list.

Witten has said in the past that he wants to remain around the game of football in some capacity. “I haven’t put a lot of thought into it. I know I want to be around the game.” Witten said last offseason.
If Fox comes after him, it’ll be interesting to see what decision is made.
