Cowboys offense is what it is: Pathetic

Cowboys offense is what it is: Pathetic

In a few weeks, the Dallas Cowboys might climb out of this abyss that they currently are trapped in. Maybe they will scrap to just get some wins and try to stay competitive in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL.  There is hope that the offense will get back to normal and with this new defense become a playoff team with a bright future ahead.

Ok, back to reality. The Dallas Cowboys are a terrible team and the problems are getting worse.

Another pathetic offensive performance by the Cowboys’ offense as the team loses 24-13 to the Seattle Seahawks.

A week after thinking the Cowboys found new and creative ways to move the ball, the Cowboys reverted back to their old ways and it cost them in the end. Dak Prescott last week mastered the RPO and brought life into the offense by running the ball himself.  On Sunday, he rushed twice for 21 yards. His passing numbers weren’t pretty either.  By halftime, he was 6-of-13 passing, with 40 yards, 0 touchdowns and one pick.

The receivers didn’t help much either when given the opportunity, dropping multiple passes and even causing two interceptions because of their faulty hands.

The offensive line continued to struggle, allowing Prescott to be under attack the entire game.  Oh and the offense still can’t convert on third downs, going 3-for-13.  In football, you need to convert at a high percentage on third down or you will surely lose the game.

We are almost a quarter into the season and we can see things aren’t getting better for this offense. It is getting worse and nothing seems to be working. Even the best playmaker on the team, running back Zeke Elliott, had a bad game with a crucial fumble loss and a penalty that negated a touchdown that could have turned the game around.

We were told things would be different this season, but that was a lie. The names might have changed but the outcome keeps turning out the same. 41 points through three games is just unacceptable.

Who is to blame?

Everyone.

Blame Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones for not effectively replacing Dez Bryant when they decided to cut him. Cutting him is fine, as long as you know you have a capable player to replace him with. Especially when its noted that this offense NEEDS a number one wideout to work.

Blame Jason Garrett for sticking with this outdated and conservative offense, while the rest of the NFL is running modern offenses.

Blame Scott Linehan for being in charge of one of the worst offense ever put together, lack of creativity, lack of good play-calling and overseeing the decline of his quarterback in just three seasons.

The real honest truth here is that this team needs a new head coach, a new offensive philosophy and a new quarterback.  That is the change that this front office needs to be embracing.

Until then, try to enjoy what you can. It’s going to be a long season.
