Dallas Cowboys enter free agency fun, add LB Joe Thomas

It’s taken some time, but the Dallas Cowboys finally placed some ink on the dotted line. Last night, the Cowboys signed former Green Bay Packers linebacker, Joe Thomas to a two-year deal. It’s not the big splash that Cowboys fans were looking for, but he should be valuable as our 4th linebacker, which could be something to fill in the gap that Justin durant left.

It should also be worth noting that Thomas served as the captain for the special teams unit while playing for Green Bay, so this is obviously a scenario that is likely while he suits up with Dallas.

Thomas isn’t the best against the run, so he figures to serve more as a third down specialist where he can produce in pass coverage situations.

In three years, Thomas has just eight starts in 42 games of playing. While the Cowboys have been very quiet up to this point in the free agency period, it’s seeming more likely the big splash they are looking to make lies in the upcoming draft in April.
