Dallas Cowboys Week 7 – Stock Report

The Dallas Cowboys did exactly what they had to do Sunday afternoon winning 40-10 against a winless San Francisco 49ers team. The Cowboys have now scored 30+ points in three straight games and are now 3-3 entering the toughest part of their schedule thus far starting with a road matchup with their hated rival, the Washington Redskins.

STOCK UP

EZEKIEL ELLIOTT
2016 Zeke, is that you? There had been a lot made about the shape Elliott was in and a lot of worries that he may have lost a step in only his second NFL season. Well, Sunday put any and all questions to bed. Elliott came out rejuvenated and looked like the Zeke we all grew to love last season. Elliott finished the game with 26 carries, 147 yards rushing with two touchdowns. He also added a 72 yard receiving touchdown.

DEMARCUS LAWRENCE AND DAVID IRVING
There is a pass rush to be reckoned with in Dallas thanks to Demarcus Lawrence and David Irving. Lawrence continues to add to his career season. Lawrence recorded another sack bringing his total to 9.5 for the season and also added a forced fumble. Irving has made his presence felt in the two games he has played in so far with 3 sacks.

ANTHONY HITCHENS
Anthony Hitchens has made an instant impact on the field with his play since returning from his injury (Tibial plateau fracture). He recorded 8 tackles Sunday and 3 tackles for loss. His return takes a lot of pressure off of Jaylon Smith, who was given more work than anticipated without Hitchens out there.

STOCK DOWN

DAN BAILEY’S INJURY
There is one thing that kept Sunday from being perfect and that was the injury to kicker Dan Bailey. The All-pro kicker is expected to be out “at least a couple of weeks” and the Cowboys have signed Mike Nugent to take over the kicking duties while Bailey recovers. Unfortunately for Jeff Heath he wasn’t able to keep his job as the teams kickee.

That’s all I have for you for the stock down report. There just wasn’t much that went wrong for the Cowboys Sunday. While it was only the 49ers, I think the Cowboys can build off this win and take it into Washington. I expect the Cowboys to go on the road and get another win.
