As summer grows closer in Dallas, all eyes will soon shift to that good looking SF we poached from H-Town. Chandler Parsons has a decision to make but so does Cuban and Co. Does Parsons leave for the Magic, in his home state of Florida? Will he head back to the Rockets or stay with the Mavs? Cuban may shock fans by giving Parsons the Heisman or move on to greener pastures. This summer should be fun!
Parsons’ underwhelming downtrend in stats do not mix well with brittle knees. He’s fully expected to opt-out and pursue the fat cash this off-season. His averages in PTS, AST, REB, STL and FT% have been falling since 2013. Didn’t we say it was Monta Ellis hindering CP from being an All-Star?
Yes, Parsons was battling back from a major injury but is the 83rd best scorer, 121st best rebounder and 91st best passer with a busted knee worth $20M/Yr? Not hardly.
CP has a reputation as a strong recruiter due to his popularity at the lunch table, but Dallas hasn’t benefited the perks of being friends with the cool kid just yet.

It’s time for Cuban and Co. to go big or go young! If Donnie pulls that trigger, Parsons is sitting in the interval. His paycheck, age and production-trend won’t fit.

If Dallas is going to overpay, make sure it’s on players with high production or young athletic bangers. Remember this Thunder series? Dallas didn’t lose to better ball skills. Dallas lost to better athletes and better bangers. And the Mavericks hosted a nursing home in the paint this year.

We all wanted Chandler Parsons to be our post-Dirk love affair and it could still happen. But if it were my millions, I would pass on the CP price tag. I’d roll the expensive dice on much younger and safer bets. Summer 2016 should be another fun off-season for NBA fans.
