Highlights: Dallas Mavericks Eliminated from Summer League in Semifinals

Despite 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting for rookie point guard Dennis Smith Jr. the Dallas Mavericks fell 108-98 to the Los Angeles Lakers in the semifinals of the Las Vegas Summer League Tournament.

Smith Jr.’s counterpart, LA point guard Lonzo Ball left the contest early with a calf injuring, but finished with a double-double including 16 points, 10 assists and four rebounds in just 21 minutes of action.

The Lakers led by as much as 26 points before the Mavericks battled back to get within one point with 2:16 left in the game. LA finished the game on a 12-3 run, sending the Mavs home for their first-and-only loss of NBA Summer League.
