Mavs aim to extend streak against Lakers

 

When the Dallas Mavericks host the Lakers at 1 p.m. Saturday from American Airlines Center, Dallas hopes to extend its streak to 15-consecutive wins against Los Angeles.

The Mavs and Lakers can be seen tipping off on Fox Sports Southwest or the Fox Sports Go app.

Dallas is currently riding a pair of wins and could kickstart another streak with a victory against the Lakers this afternoon.

The Mavs previously topped the Hornets in Charlotte despite 41 points from Kemba Walker.

Harrison Barnes led the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Yogi Ferrell added 22 points from the starting lineup, including 7-for-10 from three-point range. Dennis Smith Jr. added 15 points in his home-state stop. Meanwhile, the Big Faithful, Dirk Nowitzki, added 19 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field.

Prior to their win in Charlotte, the Mavericks bested the Magic, 114-99, behind a pair of 20-point games from Nowitzki and Smith Jr.

The point guard currently ranks fifth among rookies in points per game, averaging 14 points on 39.3 percent shooting from the field.

A win for Dallas continues its winning streak against Los Angeles, stretching 15 games; It also allows the Mavericks to take a three-game winning streak on the road.

Dallas travels to Denver to face the Nuggets on Tuesday before traveling to Portland on Saturday for a matchup with the Trail Blazers.
