Potential Cowboys first round draft picks by tiers

The Dallas Cowboys enter the week of a very important NFL Draft that starts Thursday. The Cowboys have definite holes that need to be addressed and this is going to be an interesting draft for all teams due to all teams lacking certain information for each draft prospect. I think its safe to say there will be plenty of surprises throughout the draft but especially in the first round.

I have three definite holes that will need to be addressed.

  1. Cornerback / secondary
  2. Defensive line / pass rusher
  3. Wide receiver

It would be hard for me to be upset if the Cowboys take any of those three positions in the first round but the level of excitement could vary depending on the player taken.

Tier I

My tier one names are the names that I am going to go crazy if the Cowboys take them in the first round. I have four of those names.

  1. WR Ceedee Lamb – Oklahoma
  2. CB C.J. Henderson – Florida
  3. WR Jerry Jeudy – Alabama
  4. DL Derrick Brown – Auburn

Tier II

My tier II names are the guys that I would be pleased if the Cowboys drafted but are guys that are step below my Tier I guys due different concerns.

  1. WR Henry Ruggs III – Alabama
  2. LB Kenneth Murray – Oklahoma
  3. DT Javon Kinlaw – South Carolina

Tier III

My tier III names are guys that I have serious concerns about if they are drafted at 17 or in a trade back scenario.

  1. EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson – LSU
  2. S Xavier Mckinney – Alabama
  3. S Grant Delpit – LSU

Most likely to be drafted by the Cowboys, in my opinion.

  1. Chaisson
  2. Henderson
  3. Murray

My Cowboys draft nightmare

My Cowboys draft nightmare is the Cowboys trading back in the first round and taking center Cesar Ruiz. It has nothing to do with him as a player because he is very talented. However, I feel that the Cowboys have draft accoladed enough resources on the offensive line and there far bigger holes that need to be addressed.
