The Dallas Sidekicks announce their upcoming season’s schedule

The MASL (Major Arena Soccer League) announced Tuesday morning their full 2021-2022 season schedule, and with that, the Sidekicks have a confirmed schedule and opponents.

Per the MASL, this season will feature 12 teams split into three conferences with four teams each, Eastern, Central, and Western Conference. The Sidekicks will participate in the Central Conference alongside Kansas Comets, Milwaukee Wave, and St. Louis Ambush.

Each team in the MASL will play 24 games, with 12 games at home and 12 on the road. The season begins on Friday, November 26, with St. Louis Ambush hosting the Kansas City Comets. The Sidekicks will start their season at the team’s home opener on Saturday, December 4, hosting St. Louis Ambush.

The team announced in August when they would host their home opener against the Ambush.

Fifteen of the scheduled 24 games for the Sidekicks will feature against direct conference rivals. The Sidekicks will play the Kansas Comets a total of six times, the Ambush five times, and the Wave four times.

New Changes

Head coach Pablo Da Silva has a little under two months to prepare for the upcoming season. Changes started with new players added to their ranks via tryout or former players announced like Billy O’Dwyer. The team also announced the release of their captain Freddy Moojen this past August. The team will look to put their past performances behind them and create a new change ahead of their new season.

Da Silva and Jesse Llamas, as the new Dallas Sidekicks President, need change for the team. As a result, Da Silva and Llamas will be looking to work on a memorable season for players, staff, and undoubtedly the fans.

With just under two months left and numerous hours of work to be done, the Sidekicks will look to become that team they once were and win games in the MASL to bring the playoffs to the Allen Event Center.
