The Dallas Cowboys officially placed Tyron Smith (hamstring) and James Washington (foot) on IR Wednesday afternoon.

Jerry Jones expects that the Cowboys will have Tyron back around December when the team is pushing for a playoff spot. Until then, expect rookie Tyler Smith to start at left tackle

James Washington fractured his right foot on August 1st in the team’s first padded practice. He is expected to miss 6-10 weeks, which would put him looking at a possible return around late September-early October.

With those two roster spots available, the Cowboys re-signed special teamers, C.J. Goodwin and Jake McQuaide.
