Here we go with another edition of “Rank these isolation homes” featuring the Dallas Mavericks. I actually didn’t see one on social media so I came up with my own homes.
There are five people in each home. You will notice that there is one player from the early Mavs days and some of the most notable Mavs players that have to come through the franchise. I also think these houses are tougher to decide between.
I am ranking these homes based on three factors.
- Most likely to have a good time with/entertainment
- Good conversations/stories
- Long term business opportunities
House 1 : Mark Cuban, Kristaps Porzingis, Deshawn Stevenson, Steve Nash and Derek Harper.
House 2: Dirk Nowitzki, Shawn Marion, Josh Howard, Darrell Armstrong and Rolando Blackman.
House 3: Luka Doncic, Jason Terry, JJ Barea, Brian Cardinal and Mark Aguirre.
House 4: Michael Finley, Tyson Chandler, Jason Kidd, Monta Ellis and Brad Davis
My number one Mavs isolation home is house number 2.
House members: Dirk Nowitzki, Shawn Marion, Josh Howard, Darrell Armstrong and Rolando Blackman.
I am choosing this house because it has my favorite and the best player in Mavs history in Dirk. Although Dirk is not around my age, his personality would make up for that difference easily. I remember Dirk saying when he retired that he just wanted sit around and eat ice cream and all the junk food so I know being in the house with him is coming with good snacks.
In 2011, I actually went to a Shawn Marion pool party so we are basically friends already so being in a house with him would be pretty easy.
I know Josh Howard has matured over the years, especially now that he is a head coach on the college level, but I bet he still has some of those party days in him.
With Darrell Armstrong in the house, I am going to spend my time with him convincing him that he really is a Cowboys fan.
Then, Rolando Blackman is a Mavs legend and is now in the media game and I always enjoy picking the brain of the guys in the media game.
My number two Mavs isolation house is house number three.
House members: Luka Doncic, Jason Terry, JJ Barea, Brian Cardinal and Mark Aguirre.
This house is number two because I actually think this house would be the most entertaining with Luka, Terry, JJ and Cardinal.
Luka would be cracking jokes the entire time and in between that, I know he’s a gamer so we would have fun playing FIFA.
“The Jet” would be so interesting because he’s a lot of fun and he always has a lot to say so I think him and Luka would crack jokes on each other.
Barea is interesting to me because I’ve heard how much fun he is to be around because he’s funny with his jokes, so I would mesh well with him.
Cardinal is funny to me because I have never seen a player enjoy fouling people hard as much as he did during his stint with the Mavs.
Lastly, you have another Mavs legend in Mark Aguirre. I don’t know much about him personally so I think I would probably bother him with a ton of questions.
My number three house Is house number one.
House members: Mark Cuban, Kristaps Porzingis, Deshawn Stevenson, Steve Nash and Derek Harper.
I almost feel bad about having a house with Cuban, Porzingis and Nash at number three.
Cuban would be fun to be quarantined with because he is so creative and full of ideas so I can only imagine what the conversations would be like bring quarantined with him. I also have seen pictures of Cuban at parties he has attended.
KP is one of the nicest professional athletes I have come across and I know he is learning and interested in a lot of things off the court so connecting about some of those things would be cool.
My guy Stevenson is one of my five favorite Mavs even though he wasn’t here for long or one of the best players that came through here. I imagine us sitting around making jokes about LeBron James.
Nash is another guy with a ton of interests that you can connect about outside of basketball.
D-Harp would have the basketball stories on deck. He played for Knicks so I am sure he has a lot of opinions about whats has been going on with that franchise that he maybe he can share publicly.
My number four house is house number 4.
House members: Michael Finley, Tyson Chandler, Jason Kidd, Monta Ellis and Brad Davis.
I feel like this house is going to be the most buttoned up and classy of all the houses. I don’t think there is going to be a whole lot of house parties in this group and I don’t see us being up very late.
One thing I think this house produces is the stories with Finley, Kidd and Davis leading the charge.
Tyson is the best center that has come through the Mavs organization and talking about him not being re-signed twice would be interesting to get his true thoughts on those departures. I also know him and JJ have a great relationship and he always has jokes about him.
