Skylar Diggins-Smith states she played the ‘entire’ 2018 season while pregnant

During a Twitter rant Saturday afternoon, Dallas Wings guard Skylar Diggins-Smith reveals she was pregnant during the ‘entire’ 2018 season.

The vocal All-Star sat out all of last season after giving birth to her first child earlier this year.

Diggins-Smith ended that season averaging 17.9 points and 6.2 assists. It doesn’t need to be said but I’ll say it anyway: women are incredible.

While settling into motherhood and focusing on her son, Diggins-Smith says she was dealing with postpartum depression and had very limited resources to help stabilize her mental and physical health.

There seems to be a lot of water under this bridge as Diggins-Smith apparently grows more and more frustrated with the league. It was only a day ago that she tweeted this curious tweet:

It’s unclear whether she is alluding to the Wings organization or the league as a whole, although the Wings office had appeared to be patient and trusting about the new mom taking her time on returning to the court, leaving it “100% up to Skylar.”

At this moment it’s difficult to tell how this story will unfold, but Diggins-Smith has made it clear that we will eventually hear her story from the WNBA veteran, mother, icon herself.
