Final Record: 12-5

I have the Cowboys comfortably making the playoffs, but it’s a couple of ways to look at their schedule this year. The first is that given what we know from this division and their schedule in its entirety, the Cowboys should be able to do more than enough to find themselves in the playoffs once again. The second, however, is that the back half of their schedule is so favorable that they could possibly be in for a letdown in the playoffs depending on their matchup. The final eight games see them play against only one playoff team from 2021 (Philadelphia). After week six, Green Bay is the only playoff team from last year remaining on the schedule. I would love for the schedule to be flipped and we see them go against some of the tougher NFC opponents down the stretch, rather than have four of their final six games come against AFC opponents. Nevertheless, I have the Cowboys winning 12 games this year with a possible extra loss coming in week 17 against Tennessee.

  • Week 18 @ Washington (W)

Overall Record: 11-6

I do believe they make the playoffs. But I see it coming down to the Week 16 game against Philadelphia. If they win as I have predicted, they win the NFC East for the 2nd consecutive season. If they lose, they will be relying on outcomes from around the NFC to determine their playoff fate.

Overall Record: 12-5

I have the Cowboys going 12-5. I think they’ll make the playoffs and be one of the better teams in the NFC. We’re going to be right back in the same spot as last January looking at each other wondering if this is the year they figure it out in January. 12-13 wins is probably their ceiling, and I’m generally optimistic but I really like how the schedule plays out for Dallas. With how Weeks 12-17 play out, Dallas could be entering the playoffs with lots of momentum. I’ve also got that Week 16 game against Philadelphia circled for sure. That could be a massive game with massive playoff implications. Schedule and record predictions are often a fruitless exercise given how year-to-year the NFL can be and how much parity there is, so I’m sure I’ll look back on this prediction in January and laugh.

Overall Record: 12-5

I have the Cowboys going 12-5 just based on the relatively easy schedule they have down the stretch. I do feel like many of the NFC teams are improved, but the Cowboys getting to play the NFC North and AFC South is a blessing. I might be completely wrong and the Cowboys could implode, but they should be able to take advantage of a weak slate of games towards the end of the year. This truly feels like a make-or-break year for Dallas and it’ll be interesting to see how this season plays out.
